John Frazier is originally from Shreveport, La. He started playing saxophone at the tender age of six having no idea that it would ever turn into a ministry. At that same age he accepted Christ as his Savior during a Revival at his home church. Combining the love of Jesus and this talent that he was unaware of would soon change his life in unexpected ways. Through the years John has had many interesting playing opportunities. John has also performed on Tenor sax with Mike Williams (lead trumpet, Count Basie Orchestra) and Gary Hallquist (Saxophonist) in the All City Jazz Band under the direction of Bill Causey Jr. John has performed over the past 13 years with the Shreveport Metropolitan Concert Band on Sopranino, Soprano, Alto and Baritone saxophones, Eb clarinet, Bb clarinet, and bass clarinet. During the winter of 2000, John started and was a part of a saxophone quartet (The Saxy Guys) consisting of saxophonists from the Shreveport Metro Band.
John left the group in 2007 in order to further pursue his solo gospel ministry. This new journey led him all over the U.S. spreading God's word through testimony, song, and a little bit of laughter. John has also led and been a part of worship on three international mission trips to Mexico. Being under the influence of many different Jazz saxophonists and having such a great love for Gospel music, John plays the best of both worlds in order to create an incredible worship experience. Music is a key aspect put in us which can glorify our Creator. In music we move our hearts and spirits to glorify God whether there are words to it or not. John is most available for concerts on Saturday and Sunday. So, spice up your next church event with a little "Jazz for Jesus."
"Underlying all my talents, abilities, and efforts is the goal of reaching souls for Christ. I would like to thank my Heavenly Father for everything He has done. Without Him I would be nothing.
